Skin Genius Hits The Spot Purifying Gel

I read an article a while back about this gel and people were saying how good it was so I thought I’d give it a go.

Sadly, it doesn’t do much for me, I’m afraid. The gel is easy to blend in but I much prefer other products I have for clearing up spots – and certainly my other options are better than this one. I also had HUGE problems getting any of the stuff to come out of the pump dispenser!! I don’t know if I had a faulty tube but it was very annoying indeed.

However, as always with any review, this may work better for you – and I hope you won’t have trouble with the pump, LOL!

Molton Brown Heavenly Gingerlily Bath & Shower Gel

I’ve tried the hand wash in this range before and I don’t think I was that impressed. And sadly, I’m still not that impressed with the Shower Gel. Yes, it lathers up beautifully like all Molton Brown products do, but it just smells … soapy … And nothing more.

A real disappointment then, but at least I tested this one in the sample size and so didn’t have to pay for it.

If you like it (for some reason, lol!), then you can pick this product up at Molton Brown for £22 for 300ml. I’m not going to do that though.

Beauty Pro Pink Clay Sheet Mask

I was really thrilled to see this mask and snapped it up as quickly as I could as I LOVE pink clay because it’s really amazing for clearing up my skin.

However, though I’m a real fan of BeautyPro, I’m afraid this one is a disappointment. First of all, you are advised to keep it on for 40-60 minutes until the mask dries. 40-60 minutes???!!!??? Who do they think we are? What do they think we’re doing all day?? Seriously nobody has time for that. I’m lucky if I manage ten minutes for any mask. Harrumph!

So that was a distinct no-no for me – and the second thing was that it’s just really awkward to manoeuvre. The mask is divided in half which I don’t much like anyway, but you also have to remove the lining from each half and, frankly, I didn’t know which bit I was supposed to be using by the time I managed to separate the pesky thing out.

So a MEGA fail for me, sadly. I won’t be bothering with this one again. But if you have an urge to struggle with a difficult beauty product that you have to spend half of your life wearing, then you can find it at LookFantastic for £5.21 per mask. So not worth it, double harrumph!

Body Shop Ethiopian Green Coffee Firming Cream

Body Shop Ethiopian Green Coffee Cream

I was really looking forward to trying out this firming body cream from The Body Shop as I have enjoyed other items from their Spa of the World range. However, I’m afraid it was something of a disappointment – I was expecting it (more fool me!) to smell like coffee which would have really cheered me up in the mornings, but it doesn’t smell like coffee at all, or indeed anything else, sigh. Also I was expecting it to be slightly grainy for sorting out my bumps and lumps (LOL!) but it’s actually quite smooth.

I was also hoping it would help those aforementioned lumps and bumps but alas it doesn’t do that, even deeper sigh … So I’m returning to the firming body cream I know and love, and giving up with this one.

The one good thing about it is – if it works for you, and it obviously worked for a heck of a lot of people – the tub is huge so will last you for ages! Plus the green colour is nice. You can pick up a pot at The Body Shop for £25 for 350ml, so quite a hefty price tag!

Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser

Body Shop Vit C Glow Boost

I do like the Body Shop Vitamin C range so I was very interested to try this one out as an alternative to my morning moisturising routine. I’m sorry to say therefore that it was very disappointing indeed.

It’s not as creamy as I was hoping for, and it has a very, almost 1970s-style, old-fashioned scent – both of which issues I found very irritating really. I’m also not sure whether it improved my skin one jot, sigh.

So I’ve been very happy to finish it up and go back to the routine I had before, LOL! If you do want to give this one a go and you’re a fan of water-based moisturisers, then you can pick this product up at The Body Shop for £16 for 50ml.

The Body Shop Moringa Body Yogurt

moringa body yogurt

I was looking forward to trying this product as I do love a good body yogurt, and I was also prepared to take a punt on a totally unknown scent – see how brave I am, LOL.

Sad to say, I’m not impressed with the yogurt consistency here. Other body yogurts I’ve tried have been the perfect blend of lotion and cream (Aveeno – I’m looking at you, thank you!), but here The Body Shop’s idea of yogurt is really very watery indeed. It’s definitely not the consistency of yogurt I’d buy to eat either! I was very disappointed.

I always wasn’t impressed by the Moringa smell – a mix between washing up liquid and weak lemon, it didn’t make me feel happy at all. And if a body lotion, cream or yogurt doesn’t make you feel happy, what’s the point of buying it?

Anyway, if you like runny yogurt and soapy lemon, then by all means, give this product a go – you can get it at The Body Shop for £8.50 for 6.98oz, but really you might want to spend your money elsewhere.
