Niveal Rose & Argan Oil Body Lotion

A while back, I was looking for a cheap body lotion to use when I go open-water swimming and came across this one. Argan oil is very good for skin and I do like a rose scent so it seemed to fit the requirements.

It’s okay and the scent is fine, but I’m certainly not bowled over by it. I think the issue is how thin and runny it is – though at this price I shouldn’t really have been expecting anything more. It’s just a bit bland, though it absorbs into the skin perfectly well.

I won’t be buying this one again, but if you’d like to give it a try, you can pick it up at Superdrug for £5.99 for 400ml.

Savlon Advanced Healing Gel

Savlon-Healing-Gel-50g-465488

Time for some more love for this excellent healing gel – I’ve used it for ages and it’s brilliant for getting rid of potential spots, rashes etc – though you don’t need to use much as it can be drying. I always have some in stock.

You can get this at Superdrug for £4.29 for 50g.

Stay safe!

Carex Complete Moisture Hand Wash

carex complete moisture hand wash

This is a perfectly pleasant hand wash that I picked up in the supermarket with a few others. It’s antibacterial as well (or at least my version is), which I do always like. On the plus side it doesn’t cause dryness, which is fabulous, but sadly there’s no scent – and I do tend to like a scent!

The other issue that’s starting to worry me is the use of plastic containers with these products so I’ve decided – at least for now – to just buy ordinary bar soaps instead of liquid ones. Yes, it means I can’t just rush into the bathroom, wash and go – as it were! – but I think that’s probably a small price to pay, LOL!

If you’d like to try this hand wash out, then you can pick it up at Superdrug for £1.89 for 250ml – a bargain price indeed.

L’Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Powder Rose Ivory

Loreal rose ivory blendable powder

This pressed powder really suits my skin – it’s the Rose Ivory 1C version and it’s great. However, this was an experiment as I usually prefer a loose powder but thought I’d ring the changes for a while. I would buy this one again if I get bored in the future of my usual powder, as it deals well with shine and helps make-up stay in place for longer.

The only issue is that it’s impossible to finish it off completely as you just get left with product in the corners of the container – but that’s true for anything pressed really! At least with loose powder, I get to use all of it, LOL.

If you’d like to give this a try, you can get it at Superdrug for £6.99 for 9g.

L’Oreal Pure Clay Detox Wash

loreal pure clay detox wash

I bought this Detox Wash in error as I was wanting the Purity Wash version as I really like that one. However, with my ‘old bags’ eyesight’ (LOL!) I couldn’t tell the difference and ended up with this one.

Anyway I thought I’d give it a go, and it’s not bad. It keeps the skin clean and minimises blemishes, though I think the Purity Wash is a better fit for me as it does the same thing but in a more gentle way – which I prefer. The real problem with the Detox Wash is that it does get your basin VERY messy very quickly, which is annoying – so you need to be very careful when you use it!

If you like a detox wash, you can pick this one up at Superdrug for £3.99 for 150ml (a sale price at the moment!) so now is the time to give it a go.

Olay Regenerist Whip

Olay Whip

I’m not really a fan of Olay products, but I was lured in by a sample offer of their new Regenerist Whip range. No, that’s not an invitation to a very naughty party indeed (LOL!) but just a description of their new whipped cream range, which is supposed to be powerful but light on the skin. I chose the Regenerist range for my old bag status and what arrived was the smallest sample I’ve ever seen. How mean are Olay? Answer: pretty mean!

Anyway, I tried it out (only just enough for one use though …) and I can’t say I’m impressed. A bit watery to my mind, and it didn’t do anything for me at all – though of course as it’s only the size of an atom, then it’s hard to say.

So, I won’t be doing any more exploring, but if you’d like to try the full product, it’s on a half-prize sale at Superdrug at the moment at only(!) £19.99 for 50ml. You may have better luck!

Maybelline 107 Fairly Bare Lipstick

maybelline 107 fairly bare lipstick

I like this range of Maybelline lipsticks much more than I thought I would, but then again I get really confused about lipsticks anyway and never know what is best for me. This one is a lovely subtle colour that suits my very pale skin, and it’s very moisturising. It’s not overpowering either – I’m terrified of lipsticks that take over my face if you see what I mean! This one doesn’t.

I also really love the scent of it – faintly floral and faintly like almonds, which I very much like. I wear it for work and it does the job perfectly. I’ll probably buy it again once I run out but I’ve got a few other lipsticks to try for now.

You can pick this one up at Superdrug for only £6.99 – and it lasts for ages, hurrah!

Foot Magic and Figs

Products 1

Palmer’s Foot MagicMade with pure Cocoa Butter and enriched with Vitamin E and Mango Butter, Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Foot Magic provides a deep penetrating treatment for the feet. I bought this one just to give it a try and because it’s relatively cheap – and actually I really love it! The mango & peppermint is a lovely smell and it feels gloriously smooth going onto my feet – a real treat for the sole, LOL! You can get it at Superdrug for £3.99 for the 60g tube and when I’m running low on foot cream, I shall definitely repurchase this.

Roger & Gallet Fig Shower Cream: This refreshing shower gel develops into a soft and light foam that gently cleanses the skin without drying it out. I started out not liking the smell of this, though the lather is lovely as with all R&G shower creams. Then, actually, I warmed to it, as I think it’s a very adult and sophisticated scent and I would definitely buy it again. My version is the 50ml tube as it came in a set, but the link is for the 200ml one, and it costs £9.50 at Marks & Spencer, which I think is pretty reasonable.

4160 Tuesday’s The Sexiest Scent on the Planet Ever (IMHO)This is a scent with wafts of something akin to lemon meringue pie at first, then it settles down to stay close to your skin, with a velvety, woody fragrance you only detect close up. This is a very elegant scent which will take you from day to evening wear with no problem, as it’s subtle enough to encompass both. I’m not sure it’s my favourite of the 4160 Tuesday range, but definitely worth a shot. It costs £65 for a 30ml bottle, so one to treat yourself to, LOL.

Clarins Pure and Radiant Mask: Clarins Pure and Radiant Mask with Pink Clay provides purity, freshness and radiance for combination and oily skin. This mask comforts and purifies, refines the skin’s texture and leaves it matte and very soft. Non-drying, it is rinsed off easily. I totally LOVE this product and it’s my first go-to mask for spotty or blemished/sensitised skin. The pink clay ingredient is AMAZING. It really heals things up in double quick time without drying out the skin and you can use it for several days in a row with no problem. One of my favourite masks, and I already have 2 back-ups in my cabinet. It costs £18.78 for 50ml at Amazon. Go for it!

Products 2

Dove Invisible Dry Compressed Spray and Roll-on: Both of these products are brilliant anti-perspirant deodorants, they don’t stain your clothes and they’re gentle on the skin. What’s not to like? Well done, Dove! They’re the only deodorants I use now – I tend to go for the aerosol in the morning, and then the roll-on in the evening when I’m back home after work, but that’s just personal choice. They only cost about £2 or £3 each anywhere, though I’m linking to Boots here.

Carex Coconut & Almond Hand WashCarex Care+Plus Enriching Hand Wash with Coconut Oil and Almond extracts leaves your skin beautifully soft, fragrant and protected between washes, so that you and your family can feel free to live life hands on. This is okay as a hand wash, though I was expecting the scent to be stronger and just more interesting. But it does the job and doesn’t dry out the skin, so that’s good news. I just wanted more coconut! So I probably won’t buy this again, as Carex have other more zappy hand washes available. This can be found at Superdrug for £1.00 for 250ml as it’s on offer at the moment.

Otrivine Sinusitis SprayOtrivine Adult Measured Dose Sinusitis Spray delivers a measured fine mist of medication with each application. Otrivine is a highly effective decongestant which acts gently within minutes to relieve nasal congestion associated with sinusitis for up to 10 hours. This is not the best nasal spray I’ve used, and I use them at least once a day all year round, so I won’t be repurchasing this one, I’m afraid. You can find it at Boots for £3.79 for 10ml.

Still, I love this product and take a pill once in the morning, and once in the evening, and it keeps most things under control. I already have a spare packet. You can get this at Amazon for £5.98 for a pack of 60, and they’re well worth it.

Oral B Dental FlossBrushing alone can’t get to all the hard-to-reach places where plaque builds up. Oral B Essential Waxed Mint Floss can. With its light wax coating and its shred-resistant texture, it slides easily between your teeth and below the gumline. It helps clean the tough-to-get plaque away. Used morning or evening when you brush, Oral B Essential Waxed Floss helps your gums and teeth stay healthy. This is the best dental floss I’ve ever used, and the only one I go for now. The cord is thin enough to get in even the tiniest space and it easily dislodges any gunk, plus it tastes great! You can pick it up at Boots for a mere £1.60 and it’s worth every penny.

Hope you’re all having a great Easter break!

Cucumber and Eucalyptus

Cucumber mask

I did enjoy this Freeman Cucumber Peel-Off Mask, even though I don’t like peel-off masks! Freeman facial peel-off cucumber mask is a refreshing facial mask that gently peels away impurities, while cucumber, melon and ginseng extracts leave your skin silky smooth. It is made with natural, botanical ingredients to help you look and feel your best. Clarifies and Renews Skin. I must admit I wasn’t really looking forward to using it as I thought the smell of cucumber might be too much, but actually it was very subtle and fresh, which was great. The only problem I had is that I used half of it and then stored it away in a plastic bag to use the other half later, but I didn’t keep it upright and it’s very fluid, LOL! So yes, I lost the rest of the pack which was a shame, but I would probably buy the full product at some point. You can get it at Amazon for £3.13 for 150ml

DD Cream

I picked up this Superdrug DD Anti-Ageing Cream in Light a while back as I was curious as to what it was like – I’m a user of BB Creams and CC Creams, but this was my first DD cream. Superdrug Anti-Ageing SPF20 DD Cream provides sheer illuminating coverage, which immediately conceals discolouration and imperfections, while helping to neutralise and protect the skin from daily aggressions, preserving skin’s youthfulness. With UV protection to help defend against premature skin ageing. The 7-in-1 formula also provides all day moisturisation and helps to strengthen the skin’s barrier whilst Glycolic Acid gently dissolves surface skin cells helping to diminish the appearance of pores, hyperpigmentation and fine lines over time. Benefits: Promotes Skin Detoxification; Protects and Strengthens Skin; Effectively Conceals Imperfections; Resurfaces and Refines Skin and Pores; Diminishes Discoloration, Fine lines and Wrinkles; Provides All Day Moisturisation; SPF21. I wasn’t really that impressed with this one, I’m afraid – not enough coverage and no staying power. I used it up only when I knew I was staying in for the night, LOL! You can get this at Superdrug for £4.95 for 50ml – which is their half-price offer at the moment, but I’d advise spending your cash elsewhere …

Dentyl

I use Dentyl Active Plaque Fighter Smooth Mint Mouthwash every evening and I love it. It’s alcohol-free which is hugely important to me. Effective alcohol-free mouthwash with active ingredients to keep your mouth clean and healthy; unique formula that powerfully pulls bacteria and debris that can cause bad breath, plaque and gum disease; kills up to 99.9% of oral bacteria in lab tests; soes not sting, tastes great and gives you long-lasting fresh breath. You need to shake it up first to make sure the two parts of it blend properly before you use it, but that’s no problem. I’ve already restocked this one. You can get it for £3.85 for 500ml at Amazon.

Sanex

I love Sanex Dermo Sensitive Shower Cream. It’s brilliant for my sensitive skin on the back, neck and chest areas and I use it every day. There’s no scent and it makes my skin much better. I’m never without a bottle of this one! You can get it at Boots for £3.25 for 500ml and it’s a real bargain.

Squeeky Clean

I picked up this tube of Creightons Squeeky Clean Saint or Shimmer Lotion as part of a bargain at Poundland and it’s really nice. Get glam with a glorious glow with Squeeky Clean saint or shimmer lotion. Packed with skin friendlies, vitamin E, coconut oil and sweet almond oil, this divine shimmer lotion gives an instant all over healthy looking glow and leaves skin feeling irresistibly soft and smooth. This has got everything I love in a body lotion – Vitamin E, Coconut Oil and Sweet Almond Oil – hurrah! The scent is very comforting and it’s not too coconut-focused at all. It makes you feel far more glamorous and elegant than the price would have you believe! Yes, there’s a slight shimmer but it’s very subtle so nothing to get concerned about. Next time I’m in Poundland, I shall look for it again. It costs – you guessed it! – £1.00 for 100ml and I recommend it.

Vick

I’m nothing without my Vicks Vaporub! Contains: menthol and camphor to calm a cough; eucalyptus and menthol to relieve nose congestion; eucalyptus to relieve catarrh. I use it every morning on my neck before I go to work, and then every night on my neck, chest and back before I go to bed. I don’t do the steaming suggestion as I just find it too much – I’m very delicate, you know! It’s wonderful for my catarrh and helps keep everything under control. I’ve already got a back-up. You can pick this up at Boots for £4.36 for 100g, and it’s a little miracle.

Have a great weekend and welcome to April!
