Body Shop Lemon Purifying Face Wash

Body Shop Product Review

This is a lovely refreshing face wash that lathers up well and is great for sensitive skin too. I particularly love the sweet lemon scent which is very envigorating.

The product contains natural lemon oil extracted from lemon peel and Community Fair Trade organic aloe vera from Mexico. It’s fully vegan as well.

Body Shop Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash

Body Shop Product Review:

The Vitamin E range is of course one of our iconic ranges, having been around since the 1970s. It’s also one of our most popular, and rightly so. This wash is very gentle, so ideally suited to sensitive skin, and yet still provides a soft and refreshing clean. My skin never felt tight afterwards, so that’s great news.

As well as containing Vitamin E, this facial wash also contains wheatgerm oil which is very moisturising. A quality product.

Body Shop Vitamin C Daily Glow Cleansing Polish

Body Shop Product Review

This is quite simply an excellent face wash, and I love it. Vitamin C is of course wonderful for the skin and it’s very helpful that it acts as a gentle exfoliator as well as a cleanser. This is suitable for sensitive skin as well which is brilliant. I use it every day.

The product contains Vitamin C-rich camu camu from the Amazonian Rainforest in Peru.

Body Shop Vitamin C Daily Glow Cleansing Polish

Body Shop Product Review

Time for another shout-out for one of my favourite ever face washes – this product is just amazing. It’s gentle enough to use every day on sensitive skin and it feels wonderfully soothing and cleansing as well.

The vitamin C content comes from camu camu berries which are found in Peru. I love it!

Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Clay Wash

Body Shop Product Review

This is a very useful foaming face wash for those of us with blemished or spot-prone skin. It’s also fine to use if, like me, you have super-sensitive skin, as it doesn’t dry you out.

It contains bamboo charcoal from the Himalayan foothills and tea tree oil from Kenya. Definitely a good product to have on stand-by!

The Body Shop Carrot Energising Face Cleanser

Body Shop Product Review

This is a really good and rather underrated face cleanser. It’s brilliant for my super sensitive skin, it smells deliciously of carrots, and it leaves my face feeling smoother and more radiant. Result!

Plus The Body Shop uses wonky organic carrots from the UK which would otherwise have been thrown away so we’re doing good for the planet too – double result. Oh and it’s vegan too!

L’Oreal Pure Clay Purity Wash

L'oreal pure clay purity wash

I TOTALLY love this face wash and I’ve been using it for ages. It’s utterly perfect for me – I use it every night and it’s wonderful for my sensitive skin. It just cleans my face without any harshness at all and it makes everything calm down like magic.

It includes three pure clays and eucalyptus and I wouldn’t be without it! You can pick this one up at Boots for £5.99 for 150ml, which is ridiculously cheap and there’s even a 3-for-2 offer on selected L’Oreal skincare right now. What could be nicer!

Simple Moisturising Facial Wash

simple moisturising facial wash

This is an okay facial wash – it’s moisturising and doesn’t irritate the skin. However, I really hate the feel of it – it’s just slimy, somehow. Plus it smells really strongly of chlorine for some reason and so reminds me of swimming lesson at school – not a nice memory for sure!

I’m also not convinced it did me much good either, so I won’t be getting it again! If you want to give it a try, you can pick it up at Boots for £3.49 for 150ml. But I can’t really recommend it.

Soap & Glory Vitamin C Facial Wash

s&g vit c facial wash

This is a really good facial wash for sensitive skin – as it cleanses without causing any dry patches and also manages to calm down any potential rashes etc. Anything with Vitamin C in gets my vote. Ok, it’s not as good as the Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel – but nothing ever is! But I don’t like to use the same facial wash all the time so this is a good alternative to ring the changes.

Plus it lasts for ages, and doesn’t have the ‘weird pink’ smell of other S&G products, if you  know what I mean.

You can get this at Boots for £8.00 for 350ml, and there’s a buy-one-get-one-half-price deal on at the moment, so don’t miss out!

Simple Triple Action Face Wash

simple triple action face wash

I’ve used this face wash for a long time, and it’s been quite good during my 40s and early 50s, but actually I don’t think it suits me so well any more. That said, I’m very happy that it contains zinc and chamomile – both of which are brilliant for skin – and it’s gentle for sensitive skin too, as are all Simple products.

It’s just that, now I’m in my mid 50s, other products suit me better. However, I do recommend you give it a go if you’re a bit younger than me and have problem skin. You can get it at Amazon for £8.99 for 150ml.

Happy washing!
